Starting Slash - A word from our Founder

Call me crazy, but I actually believe in the power of women.

I believe that when women work together, that power becomes even greater.

Slash Beauty was established with that very same intention. For our clients, I wanted a space that made them feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed and for our staff, an environment our team enjoyed working in.

I think we’ve achieved this and I’m always proud when people tell us how much they enjoy the space. A lot of careful thought, hard work and determination has gone into making Slash what is today.

4 years ago when I opened my first lash bar in Crystal Palace - I didn’t try to compete with any of the other local salons, I didn’t poach clients. I just stayed true to myself. I started my business with a view to creating a space for women to build a career, form new bonds and most importantly; be themselves.

Being yourself.

It’s a wild concept in this day and age, when everybody seems to be after the same aesthetic, the same lifestyle, the same old, same old. We live in a society where we are constantly comparing ourselves against others and for some reason, women always seem to bear the brunt of this constant comparison.

But what purpose does it serve? It’s not healthy, it’s not productive and simply put, it’s just not nice. And for me, our business has a responsibility to stand for something, no matter what.

So that being said, Slash Beauty will always be a community where we share kindness, celebrate our differences and empower women to be their best selves and live their best, full lives.
